In a wager with the Earl of Fenmore, young Anthony Hamilton gambles away both his estate and his sister, Diana, who is obliged to move to Fenmore Park to act as a governess to Lord Fenmore's twin nephews and as a companion to Lady Fenmore, the earl's mother.
